The Land Development Agency and Galway City Council are seeking the public's views on plans to deliver over 200 homes on the Dyke Road
Planning permission for phase 1of the project on the 1.78 hectare landbank is likely to be sought later this year.
It proposes affordable and social apartments, as well as commercial, civic and cultural amenities.
It also plans a network of public amenites such as pedestrian, jogging and bicycle paths as well as green spaces and a public plaza. LDA Head of Property Phelim O'Neill says they would welcome the views of locals, businesses and community and cultural groups

Agri Aware is set to hold Farm Walk & Talk events in Mountbellew Agricultural College tomorrow and Friday (mar 7 and 8)
Agri Aware expect over 600 Leaving Cert Agricultural Science students from schools in Galway, Mayo, Roscommon, Leitrim and Clare to take part
Students will participate in sustainablity and farm safety talks, and in addition will recieve a notebook with extensive notes on key areas of the Leaving Cert curriculum.
Executive Director at Agri Aware Marcus O'Halloran, says it's a great chance for students to put theory into practice.

A diverse group of women will take part in a panel discussion at an event in Tuam this weekend.
The AMDAF Women Roundtable and Intercultural EPIC Award aims to foster connection and empowerment among women from varying backgrounds.
Cathaoirleach Liam Carrol will offically open the event this Saturday March 9th at 2PM at the West Wing in Tuam.
The topics and issues brought up during the discussion will be compiled in a report and sent to relevant policy makers as a call to action.
Founder of AMDAF Islammiyah Kadejo says women from all walks of society will be represented at the event:

Community Healthcare West is working to establish a mental health crisis team for Galway.
It's working with the National Office in seeking approval to recruit five new posts which would make up the crisis team.
The team would comprise three Clinical Nurse Specialists, a Clinical Nurse Manager and a Social Worker.
Councillor John Connolly says this is an important development for the city.

A Cabinet Minister has criticised Sinn Fein policy in a response to claims from Deputy Mairead Farrell that many people "have no choice" but to emigrate.
She said many in Australia are "homesick" and keen to move home but cannot due to high rents and the rising cost of buying a home.
Sinn Fein Deputy Farrell said many people just can't see themselves as being able to set up a life in Ireland, even if they want to.
But while Minister Pascal Donohue accepted more homes are needed, he took aim at Sinn Fein's policy on rents.
