100 new jobs have been announced at the official opening of a major extension at Platform 94 in Mervue this afternoon.
Platform 94 - formerly known as Galway Technology Centre - is now 11 times bigger than when it was founded in 1994.
Following today's official opening by Junior Enterprise Minister Dara Calleary, client company BuyMedia, an advertising tech firm, announced 100 new jobs.
CEO of Buymedia, Fergal O Connor, says the roles among the new jobs will be varied

Works are now underway on a new outdoor gym in Castlepark.
The Calisthenics gym will be located at a site near East United FC, that's set to become known as "Castlepark Fitness Area".
Calisthenics is a form of exercise that involves running, standing, pushing and pulling using bodyweight.
The outdoor gym will be the first of its kind built by Galway City Council.
Councillor Alan Cheevers says it'll be a big addition to the area.

A study carried out at University of Galway shows a decline in wellbeing and mental health among adolescents in the West.
The study examined Planet Youth surveys, which saw 15 thousand transition year students self-report on a range of topics.
They focused on patterns of stressful and traumatic incidents young people experience at home, in school, and among their peer group.
The study found that a significant number of adolescents reported self-harming, particularly those who faced adversity in multiple contexts.
Speaking to Galway Talks, research member Dr Caroline Heary outlined how it's a major risk factor.

There's been a major step forward in the long-awaited masterplan for the Kingston area in Knocknacarra.
The plan is a blueprint for future amenity development in the area, including sports facilities.
But it's languished in development hell for years and is often a source of frustration among local councillors at meetings of Galway City Council.
A consultancy firm has now been appointed to design the masterplan and bring it through to the planning stage.
Councillor John Connolly says the plan is badly-needed.

Galway County Council has become the second local authority to launch an online pre-planning enquiry system.
Members of the public can use the portal to generate a free report for a proposed site within the county, which will aid planning applications.
The free-of-charge system is the first bilingual local authority pre-planning enquiry system to be launched in Ireland.
Speaking of the new portal, Director of Services, Liam Hanrahan, says it will save people time and money:
