Warning signage is to be put up along the N59 this side of Christmas due to high numbers of Deer crossing the road.
The matter has been raised at County Hall, where a meeting of Connemara Councillors heard the problem has "gotten out of control" in recent years.
Councillor Gerry King warned it's not becoming a problem - it is already a big problem.
Council management advised that signage has been ordered and should be in place before Christmas.

A local councillor is frustrated that a bus shelter cannot be installed in Oughterard - because of what he claims are unrealistic wheelchair requirements.
Councillor Tom Welby says with the recent announcements of increased bus services, the shelter is now more vital than ever.
He told a meeting at County Hall that the landowner is willing to accommodate a bus shelter at the existing bus stop.
But he claimed that it's been deemed not possible due to insufficient space in front of the shelter to allow two wheelchairs to pass at the same time.
Councillor Welby says it's a ridiculous situation and a workaround has to be found.

Stories from Israel and the West Bank will be shared at two public meetings in Tuam and Knocknacarra.
Máire Ní Mheibhric has volunteered in the West Bank but was evacuated when the Israel-Hamas conflict broke out.
She will make a presentation tonight at The Abbey Tavern, The Square, Tuam at 7.30PM, and tomorrow night in St Anthony's room at Knocknacarra Church.
Speaking to Galway Talks, Máire explains what will be dealt with during the talks.

A full-time caretaker is to be appointed at Renville Park in Oranmore - and the public toilets are to be opened all year round.
Funding for the position has been allocated in the county budget for 2024.
Located on Galway Bay, Renville Park is a hugely popular amenity offering many attractions, including extensive walkways, woodlands, and playground.
Councillor Martina Kinnane says given that popularity, it's important that it's maintained all year round.

The Moycullen Bypass is officially open to traffic, after the Taoiseach cut the ribbon on the long awaited road this morning.
A crowd of local residents, business owners, local reps, and community groups gathered at the scene.

Higher Education Minister Simon Harris has announced approval for a major expansion project at ATU Galway.
It's a 'Future Living Laboratory and Digital Suite' building, that'll be based near the entrance of the Dublin road campus.
Minister Harris is visiting the campus today, where he also announced over €800 thousand for an expansion of electrical apprenticeships.
Speaking to Galway Talks, he explained what the new building will offer.

Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has officially opened the long-awaited Moycullen Bypass, to the delight of locals who gathered on the new road today for the ribbon cutting
Construction of the 4.3km stretch, with roundabout entrances on either side of Moycullen, at Clydagh and Drimcong, began in January of this year.
The new road will significantly reduce traffic through the village and along the N59, with the benefits of it to be felt all the way out to Connemara.
Taoiseach Leo Varadkar says the road will greatly improve the quality of life for those in West Galway.

€800 thousand in funding has been announced to expand electrical apprenticeships at ATU Galway.
It's part of a national allocation of €17m to four higher education institutions, in response to the growing demand for apprenticeships.
Minister Simon Harris is visiting ATU Galway today on foot of the announcement - and will later open a new student accommodation block at University of Galway.
Speaking to Galway Talks, he said apprenticeships are absolutely vital - and there are now more options than ever before.

A Galway East TD says while the Fodder Scheme for the Shannon Callows is very welcome, there are a number of issues.
The scheme supports farmers who were unable to conserve sufficient fodder due to exceptional flooding this year.
But Deputy Sean Canney said it seems some farmers are being excluded unfairly.
