The Annual Golden Enrolment Mass in memory of deceased UHG staff will take place this Saturday.
The Children's Remembrance Committee are holding the mass at 7pm in the Chapel of all Saints at Merlin Park University Hospital.
Hospital staff will lead the mass - and anyone who would like to add a loved one to the enrolment book can contact Anne McKeown on 087 441 8574 Anne is a member of the Children’s Remembrance Day Committee, and she outlines the importance of the annual reflection:

There have been 237 burglaries in County Galway so far this year, which is a 33% increase on last year's figures.
This return to pre-pandemic figures is said to be down to people leaving their homes in darkness, and in some cases unlocked when unoccupied.
Galway Gardaí are urging people to put lights on timers to give the impression that someone is home during the dark evenings to discourage burglars.

niversity of Galway has launched its first Race Equality Framework and Action Plan to improve equality, diversity and inclusion on its campus.
UG's Action Plan will focus on key points of leadership, recruitment and progression. monitoring and reporting, communications and culture and scholarships.
Actions also include enhanced supports for international and ethnic minority students and strengthening awareness of anti-racism, race equality and human rights.
Dr Helen Maher, Vice President for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion says the plan took student feedback into account:

Extra bus stops are being considered for the Local Link services in Connemara.
Some of the existing stops are up to 14km apart, and there have been calls for the service to pick up passengers anwyhere along the route - as is common in local areas.
The NTA has informed Galway West TD Eamon Ó Cúiv that Local Link Galway will now examine possible extra stops.
Deputy Ó Cúiv says while it's not the perfect solution, it is a step in the right direction:

Headford is set to receive an additional Garda in the coming months
Councillor Andrew Reddington has confirmed that internal interviews are underway for the full time position.
Earlier this year, a €250,000 investment was dedicated to Headford Garda Station.
Councillor Reddington has praised the existing work being done by the two Gardaí in Headford, but says more resources are always welcome:
