A major international conference on ocean observation is being held in Galway over the next three days
The 10th EuroGOOS International Conference will open at the Galway Bay Hotel tomorrow, and run until Thursday
The conference will see experts gather to discuss the development of oceanographic services for society.

100 new jobs are being announced for a new manufacturing facility in Spiddal.
Freudenberg Medical is creating the roles as it opens its new facility today, and is looking to grow its workforce to 400 over the next 18 months.
It comes as over 200 new jobs will be announced across three city tech firms later this morning.
Enterprise Minister Simon Coveney will be in Ballybrit and Salthill for announcements at Nostra and Titan HQ, while HPE will launch Ireland's Global Centre of Excellence.

Today, An Garda Síochana and Revenue teamed up in Clifden for the relaunch of Galway’s Divisional Coastwatch maritime initiative.
The inter-agency initiative, which also includes the Irish Naval Service, is aimed at detecting and preventing the importation of illegal drugs.
The initiative is also raising awareness of how communities on the coastline can play a major role in that aim.

Galway East TD Ciaran Cannon has questioned the Taoiseach on funding for badly-needed wastewater infrastructure in Craughwell and Clarinbridge.
He told the Dáil that Galway County Council submitted applications for both villages under a new Government fund announced last April.
But he pointed out that 18 months later, there's been complete silence on the process.
He argued that Craughwell and Clarinbridge are wonderful places to live but their development potential is being strangled by lack of infrastructure.
Speaking in response, Taoiseach Leo Varadkar said he would look into it.
