Local TD Claire Kerrane says waiting times for the HSE Psychology service for Galway children is dangerously high 
769 children are currently on the waiting list with average wait times of just over a year. 
For cases that are not seen as high priority, the average wait time increases up to four years. 
Roscommon/Galway Deputy Kerrane says some children have grown up and are over 17 before getting an appointment

The Draft Tuam Area Local Plan 2023 to 2029 has been approved by Tuam Municipal District Council. 
At this week's meeting councillors were taken through a number of recommendations and changes to the plan, including some of their own submissions
The plan was adopted on the proposal of Councillor Mary Hoade and seconded by Councillor Joe Sheridan and agreed by the members 
Cathaoirleach of the Tuam Area, Donagh Killilea says 300 submissions were dealt with

The Galway Garda Chief Superintendant has given a full and clear assurance to the public that calm will be restored to the city following the horrific broad daylight bursts of violence of recent weeks
Chief Superintendant Gerry Roche says everyone involved in these incidents of criminality will be pursued to the nth degree, and they have had considerable success to date
The Garda Chief says his budgets have been well blown in the investigations into these crimes and he will have no hesitation in seeking more resources if necessary
The most shocking incident took place at Galway Shopping Centre after 6 on Sunday evening and video footage was widely shared on social media
Speaking to Keith Finnegan on Galway Talks, Gerry Roche is unequivocal in his message that every single incident will be investigated 
He states those involved will be brought before the courts and will serve long sentences in jail

City councillors have voted to reject some elements of a major redesign of The Cresent/Sea Road junction in the city. 
A presentation was made at a meeting last night, outlining major upgrades to pedestrian and cycling infrastructure.
Other proposals include the removal of the left slip lane from The Crescent to Salthill Road Lower and the removal of some on-street parking. 
Those two points were a sticking point for many - and a vote to reverse the removal of the slip lane and on-street parking was passed by majority. 
The decision may not be ultimately binding as a redesign will likely have to examined by the National Transport Authority. 
The changes were proposed by Councillor Peter Keane - who says the loss of the slip lane would be a major problem.

Traffic lights at the West Bridge in Loughrea will not be returned to their old sequence. 
The new sequence is being blamed for causing major traffic delays, with locals expressing their frustration with councillors.
A review, due this month, will explore what changes can be made to the new sequence, but councillors have been told it will not revert back to old ways.
Councillor Moegie Maher is calling for full transparency in that review:
