Over 3 thousand students across Galway are now assessing their Leaving Cert results.
Nationally, almost 62 students received their results at around 10am.
The Education Minister says a decision to award grades broadly in line with last year was made due to the 'unique' situation of this year's class.
Norma Foley intervened in July to instruct State exam bosses to ensure this year's results were no lower overall than last year.
These students at Yeats College in the city shared their feelings with Sarah Slevin

Galway Bay fm newsroom - Over 3,200 students across Galway will receive their Leaving Certificate results this morning.
They'll be available online from 10AM - with students reminded to have their PPSN, Leaving Cert number and password to hand.
60,000 pupils nationwide will receive their results, which have artificially adjusted upwards to bring them in line with record high sets of results over recent years.
Meanwhile the Irish Second-Level Students' Union is wishing the best of luck to students getting their Leaving Cert results today.
It's reminding them the National Parents and Students Leaving Cert Helpline on 1800 265 165 is a free and confidential service.
It's open from 10am to 6pm today.

We're over halfway through the timescale for the rollout of the National Broadband plan - but it's only reached 27 percent of targetted households.
Deputy Sean Canney accepts COVID-19 caused delays, but argues we're long past that issue and more urgency is badly needed.
Overall, the plan aims to connect over half a million homes, businesses, schools and farms to high speed fibre broadband by 2026.
But speaking to Galway Talks, Deputy Canney claimed that as of July, only 156 thousand premises have been passed.
He also said there is a misconception that the plan is only for rural areas.

An extra €330,000 in funding has been announced for drugs and inclusion health services in Galway, Mayo and Roscommon.
It will support existing services offered by community and voluntary groups, to meet the health needs of socially excluded groups.
Galway West TD and Minister Hildegarde Naughton says the extra funding is to acknowledge the increased cost of providing these services.

Galway Bay fm has been nominated for 7 awards at this year's IMRO Radio Awards.
The annual awards recognise excellence in Ireland's broadcasting sector - and there was an unprecedented level of entries this year.
Current Affairs show Galway Talks has received a nomination in the category of best local or regional current affairs programme.
Meanwhile, evening news programme FYI Galway has been shortlisted in the category of best local or regional news programme.
There's been two nominations for the sports team - 'Cliona Darcy wins Boxing Gold' is up for Best Sports Story.
And a special programme dedicated to the Connacht Club Championship is nominated for best local or regional sports programme.
Ceol for the Soul, hosted by Kayte O' Malley, has been shortlisted for best Irish music programme or initiative.
Breakfast show Mollie in the Morning is also up for an award for entertainment inserts.
And Galway Bay fm's radio drama, One Day, which involved all the staff at the station, has been nominated for best drama.
The winners will be announced at a special ceremony at the Lyrath Estate Hotel in Kilkenny on Friday, October 6th.
CEO of Galway Bay fm, Cormac O Halloran, says he's delighted with the result, which reflects the hard work of staff.

Galway Rural Development is calling for the Government to expand the eligibility for a number of local employment schemes.
It wants to see wider criteria for the TÚS programme, which provides short-term working opportunities for unemployed people.
The GRD also suggests allowing farmers who engage in or are impacted by climate change to participate in the Rural Social Scheme.
Chairperson of GRD, Councillor Peter Roche, says these vital schemes are not generating enough participants due do their strict criteria:

Galway Bay fm newsroom - The 2023 Rose of Tralee wrapped up last night, with the New York Rose, Róisín Wiley taking the crown.
The 27 year old became the fifth Rose representing New York to take the title.
Róisín was presented with her sash by the 2022 Rose of Tralee Rachel Duffy just after 11.30pm on Tuesday night.
Róisín is a VP of National Sales at a consumer marketing company, working with customers to support them to plan and execute strategic digital & in-store campaigns.
Her parents, Eddie & Majella, were born and raised in Templeglantine and Kilmallock and emigrated to NYC in their 20s, building a life in Westchester, NY.
Galway Bay fm's Head of Sport Ollie Turner caught up with Róisín, as well as CEO Anthony O'Gara backstage after the announcement:
