Galway East TD Sean Canney has sought assurances from the Education Minister that there won't be a repeat of last years "shambles" when it comes to school transport.
He wanted to know when those eligible for tickets will get them, and when applicants for concessionary tickets will be told they're getting them.
Minister Norma Foley said everything has been brought forward this year, and tickets should be issued well before the return to school.
Deputy Canney said people need to know where they stand early, and the chaotic situation last year cannot be repeated.

Water service workers in Galway city are participating in a strike today alongside nine other local authorities
The Unite trade union says members unanimously rejected a framework for water services in councils.
However it says the local government management service has refused to engage with these workers or make any changes.
The union also says it wants a guarantee that staff being moved from councils to Uisce Eireann will keep their public service status.
Regional Co-ordinating officer with Unite Tom Fitzgerald says they want the local government management agency to engage with workers.

The Dáil has heard criticism of delays to a major flood defence project for Galway City.
The Coirib Go Cósta scheme will cost more than €10m and is set to be delivered by 2027.
It'll protect against a 1-in-100 year river flooding and a 1-in-200 year coastal flood event.
But a recent meeting of Galway City Council heard the final project is likely to be considerably more complex than originally envisioned.
Deputy Catherine Connolly isn't happy with the timelines being continuously revised.
